Two factors set the price:

• Distance — Hammersmith is 8 miles from Heathrow; Stratford is 22 miles. The fare scales with mileage.
• Route congestion — South-east and east London pickups route via the M25, adding miles even when the direct distance is short. A 10-mile pickup through Central London can take an hour; a 40-mile motorway pickup from outside London can take 50 minutes.
