How a pre-booked Heathrow airport pickup works

You land at Heathrow, clear immigration, collect your bags — and walk straight to a named driver waiting in the Terminal Parking car park attached to your terminal. The full process takes around 5 minutes from arrivals to vehicle once you're through customs.

Step-by-step — from landing to leaving Heathrow

  • 1. Land at Heathrow. Our system tracks your flight from departure to landing in real time — no action needed from you.
  • 2. Clear immigration and collect your bags. Your driver is already waiting at Heathrow's Authorised Vehicle Area on Northern Perimeter Road, 5 minutes' drive from the terminals. Your 45 minutes free waiting time starts the moment your flight touches down.
  • 3. Connect to _Heathrow Wi-Fi — Heathrow's free WiFi network covering all four terminals. Register with your email. No UK SIM card needed.

  • 4. Call or WhatsApp your driver on the mobile number sent in your booking confirmation. The driver tells you exactly which terminal car park level and bay to meet at.
  • 5. Walk to Terminal Parking (signposted from arrivals as “Short Stay”). The walk is 2–5 minutes depending on your terminal:
    • T22 minutes, same level as arrivals
    • T35 minutes, via Car Park 1A (TW6 1RU)
    • T42 minutes, directly opposite the terminal (TW6 3YD)
    • T52 minutes, attached to the terminal
    • 6. Driver loads your luggage. Drives off.

Where the driver waits before you call

Drivers wait at the Authorised Vehicle Area (AVA) on Northern Perimeter Road — Heathrow's official private-hire holding area. This is free for them to use, and there's no time pressure. They come to your Terminal Parking only when you call.

For T4 specifically, the driver crosses the airport from the AVA (on the north side) to T4's pickup car park on the south side — adding 5–10 minutes to the arrival once you call.

Why we don't pick up from the terminal forecourt

Heathrow does not allow private hire pickups from the terminal forecourts. Those zones are drop-off only, with a 10-minute stay limit enforced by ANPR cameras. Every pre-booked taxi at Heathrow uses Terminal Parking instead — including ours, including every operator at the airport.
Black cabs from the rank are the only exception. Black cabs run on the meter — typically £80–£150 to Central London plus a £2.40 rank surcharge — with no flight tracking and no fixed-price guarantee.

What “Meet & Greet” adds for an extra fee

The standard process above is included free. If you want the driver to walk into the arrivals hall and wait with a name board from the moment you land — useful after a long-haul flight or with elderly passengers or unaccompanied minors — add meet & greet at the booking stage.
The driver parks in Terminal Parking, walks into the arrivals hall, and waits at the international arrivals exit with your name on a sign. They handle your luggage from the moment you walk out of customs.

What's already in your fixed price

Your quote includes every charge you would otherwise pay separately:

  • The Heathrow Terminal Parking pickup fee
  • The £15 London Congestion Charge (Mon–Fri 7am–6pm, Sat–Sun 12pm–6pm) if your destination is inside the zone
  • The £12.50 ULEZ daily charge for entering the Ultra Low Emission Zone (London-wide)
  • The first 45 minutes of waiting time after your flight lands

Time of day does not change the fare. A 4am arrival from Singapore costs the same £95 to Mayfair as a 4pm arrival from Madrid.

Why pre-book your Heathrow pickup with us

Pre-booking is the difference between landing into a known plan and landing into a queue. Your driver tracks your flight, holds your fare at the price you saw on the quote screen, and waits free at the AVA until you call — no surge, no rank queue, no scramble for a UK taxi number.

What you avoid by pre-booking

  • The black cab rank queue — at 5am or 11pm or after a delayed long-haul, the rank can be 15–25 minutes deep. Black cab fares to Central London also run on the meter at £80–£150 plus the £2.40 rank surcharge.
  • Ride-hailing app surge— post-midnight and pre-dawn pickup slots at Heathrow routinely hit 1.8x–2.5x surge multipliers. There is no flight tracking, no driver before you call, and no guaranteed availability if your flight lands at 3am.
  • The shared shuttle / hotel hopper — slow, multi-stop, and requires you to know which terminal stand to find before you connect to WiFi.
  • The Heathrow Express + tube combination— £25+ each way, fast in theory, but breaks down when you have 3 suitcases, a buggy, and a 6-year-old who's been on a plane for 11 hours.

What's included in every Heathrow pickup

  • Flight tracking from your departure airport to Heathrow landing — pickup time adjusts automatically if you land early or late
  • 45 Minutes free waiting time after your flight touches down — covers immigration, baggage, customs and the walk to Terminal Parking
  • Heathrow Terminal Parking pickup fee included in the fixed quote
  • Named, licensed driver TfL or Luton Borough Council licensed, DBS-checked, mobile number sent on confirmation
  • Vehicle choice saloon, executive Mercedes, 6-seater MPV or 8-seater minibus
  • Free child and booster seats for ages 1–12, fitted on request at booking
  • Meet & greet add-on driver waits with a name board inside the arrivals hall

Booking from abroad before you fly

Most Heathrow pickups are pre-booked days or weeks before the inbound flight. Pay online by card in GBP, receive confirmation by email and SMS, and tell us your inbound flight number — we track it automatically. No UK phone number required to book or to find the driver after landing.
Confirmations include the driver's name, mobile number, vehicle make and registration, plus exact Terminal Parking pickup instructions for your specific terminal.

Free cancellation up to 3 hours before pickup

Plans change — a flight gets cancelled, a connection breaks, your travel dates shift. Cancel free of charge any time up to 3 hours before your scheduled pickup — full refund. Cancellations within 3 hours or no-shows may attract a charge to cover driver dispatch costs.

Frequently asked questions about Heathrow airport pickups

Where exactly will my driver meet me at Heathrow?

In the Terminal Parking car park attached to your terminal — not at the arrivals exit (Heathrow doesn't allow private hire pickups on the forecourts). Once you call or WhatsApp your driver after clearing customs, they tell you the exact level and bay. The walk from arrivals is 2 minutes for T2, T4 and T5, and 5 minutes for T3 via Car Park 1A.

How much does a Heathrow airport pickup cost?

Fixed-price pickups range from £35 to Heathrow-area hotels (Sofitel T5, Hilton T4, Radisson Blu Edwardian) up to £122 to Canary Wharf. Central London hotels and landmarks are £62–£95 depending on the postcode. The Heathrow Terminal Parking pickup fee, London Congestion Charge and ULEZ fees are all included.

What happens if my flight is delayed by several hours?

We track your inbound flight from departure to landing. If you land late, the pickup time shifts automatically — no extra charge, no phone call needed. Your 45 minutes free waiting time starts the moment your flight touches down, not when your booking was made. For very long delays (3+ hours), dispatch contacts you directly to confirm pickup is still required.

How do I contact my driver if I don't have a UK SIM card?

Connect to _Heathrow Wi-Fi — Heathrow's free network covering all four terminals — as soon as you land. Open WhatsApp and call or message your driver on the mobile number sent in your booking confirmation. No call charges, no UK number required. Your driver tells you the exact Terminal Parking level and bay to meet at.

Can I add meet & greet inside the arrivals hall?

Yes. Add meet & greet at the booking stage for an extra fee. Your driver parks in Terminal Parking, walks into the international arrivals hall, and waits with a name board at the international arrivals exit from the moment you land. Useful for long-haul flights, elderly passengers, or unaccompanied minors.
